Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (NASB)
Consider what this means to the disciple of Christ. ALL things. That means both the good and the bad things that happen to us. We all know that good things that happen fill us with a sense of joy and thankfulness, and that is wonderful. ... B...ut what about the bad things? Job, in his time, said it this way - the Lord gives, and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord. It is a hard thing to remember that during the bad times, but if we can remember that the purpose of the bad things is to show us our complete need for God and that the bad times also help us to become like our Lord Jesus, the main point of the Christian disciple, then we can give thanks at ALL times for ALL things, both good and bad.
