Service without fear...

Haggai 2:4,5 "'But now take courage, Zerubbabel,' declares the LORD, 'take courage also, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all you people of the land take courage,' declares the LORD, 'and work; for I am with you,' declares the LORD of hosts. 'As for the promise which I made you when you came out of Egypt, My Spirit is abiding in your midst; do not fear!'" (NASB)

Haggai 2:4,5 "Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts: According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not." (KJV)

Have you ever been afraid? These men were. They were engaged in the restoration of the Temple in the days of Ezra and Nehemiah, and they faced social, political, and even military opposition to their service to God. However, God promised them that He was with them; they need not let fear prevent them from serving God. We can learn from their example. Jesus, in his final words in the Gospel of Matthew, said ""All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matt. 28:18-20) Let us serve Him without hesitation and reservation.
